PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On April 11, 2018, the Board approved the Amendment to Board of Supervisors Agreement No. 17-098A1 extending the amount payable to Contractor from $150,000 to $250,000 to cover outside legal counsel costs. (BOS Agreement No. 17-098A2)
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Appropriation of transfer of funds is necessary to process payments for outside legal counsel services. Health & Human Services Agency has agreed to cover the above costs of the litigation for the matter of Linda Morales, et al v. County of Mendocino, et al. (case number 3:16-cv-02429). Once the department processes the invoices, reimbursement for the costs will be obtained from Health & Human Services Agency via journal entry. County Counsel originally budgeted $50,000 for this particular contract; therefore, we need the appropriation of an additional $200,000.
