PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On April 18, 2017, the Board approved a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) to join the Ukiah Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (UVBGSA).
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The JPA names the County of Mendocino as the Treasurer and Controller. The Mendocino County Water Agency (MCWA) provides this function on behalf of the County. On August 10, 2017, the UVBGSA Board authorized MCWA to apply for the Department of Water Resources Proposition 1 Groundwater Sustainability Planning Grant on behalf of the Agency. On January 11, 2018, the UVBGSA Board authorized MCWA to issue a request for proposal (RFP) for the development of the Ukiah Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Plan. On April 11, 2018, MCWA was formally notified by the Department of Water Resources (DWR) that the grant application was selected for funding in the amount of $764,255. The RFP process resulted in the selection of Larry Walker and Associates as the vendor for Phase 2 of the Ukiah Valley Groundwater Sustainability Plan.
