In 2011 the Board approved the USDA and Air Quality Board grants for the new Bookmobile.
Summary of Request:
The grant for the amount of $100,000 to purchase a new “Library with No Walls” vehicle for outreach was awarded to the Mendocino County Library. The vehicle will allow staff with approved Class C driver’s licenses to drive it to underserved populations to provide programs and services. The vehicle will be equipped to provide a small selection of materials for check out, and staff will provide reference assistance, provide appropriate resources, literacy tools, conduct story times, and will work in conjunction with other organizations in providing services.

Not approve the grant and provide further instruction to staff.
