Summary of Request:
Mutual aid and assistance agreements among agencies, organizations, and jurisdictions provide a mechanism to quickly obtain or provide emergency assistance (personnel, equipment, materials, and other associated services) in the event of a medical or health disaster or catastrophic event capable of producing mass casualties that overwhelm local ability to contain and control. In preparation for such an event, the signatories of the proposed agreement agree to assist any participating county consistent with the State of California Emergency Plan. The primary objective is to facilitate rapid, short-term deployment of emergency support prior to, during, and after an incident.
The California Mutual Aid Region II Intra-Region Cooperative Agreement for Emergency Medical and Health Disaster Assistance is an agreement entered into by and among organizations within the California Governors’ Office of Emergency Services Mutual Aid Region II, including the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and the City of Berkeley. This item requests approval to enter into the proposed agreement on behalf of Mendocino County.
