Approve Agreement with Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, Inc. in the amount of $200,000.00 (maximum of $50,000.00 per year) for the period of September 1, 2018, through August 31, 2022, to provide drug and alcohol laboratory testing services and supplies; authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request:
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory provides all drug/alcohol testing devices, and all specimen testing, for individuals (adult and juvenile) who are required to drug test for the Probation Department per the terms and conditions of their probation, as well as for participants of Adult Drug Court.
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, one of the nation’s largest drug and alcohol testing laboratories, is the government services division of Alere Toxicology. Due to the nature of probation casework and court orders, the Probation Department requires accurate testing results as quickly as possible. Redwood Toxicology is located in Windsor and is able to report our results within 10-12 hours of shipping specimens to them. Redwood has a professional reputation and their reports are fully admissible in court and are generally accepted by both the defense and court without challenge.
