Summary of Request

Supervisors McCowen and Brown are requesting approval of the attached Proclamation that recognizes Jerry Robert Jackson for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank in scouting. Jerry was honored at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held on August 11, 2018 at the Potter Valley Methodist Church.

Approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Scout rank. In order to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout a scout must demonstrate exceptional dedication, hard work, personal responsibility and leadership over a period of several years. Recognition by the Board of Supervisors of this achievement supports the hard work and accomplishments of the individual scout and also the positive leadership and character development aspects of scouting.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not adopt the Proclamation.
