PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The County of Mendocino has strongly participated in all regulatory processes, forums and organizations regarding the Potter Valley Project since the 1970s when the relicensing process of the Hydropower Project by Pacific Gas & Electric Company was before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Eel Russian River Commission (ERRC) was formed in 1978 by the Counties of Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma following the commencement of the relicensing of the Potter Valley Project by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC P-77). The ERRC has continued meeting throughout the years since its formation.
At the most recent meeting of the ERRC on June 8, 2018 in Ukiah the County of Humboldt brought forth a Resolution passed by their Board of Supervisors stating their position regarding the future of the Potter Valley Project and the Humboldt Commissioner requested each of the other member Counties to do the same. The ERRC will meet again on August 22, 2018 in Upper Lake. The attached draft resolution is brought forward in response to the request.
Humboldt County Resolution 18-56 is attached for the Board's review.
