RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution authorizing the Mendocino County Water Agency to enter into an Agreement to receive a $764,255 Proposition 1 Groundwater Sustainability Planning Grant for the creation of the Ukiah Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Plan and authorize the Water Agency General Manager to sign and execute said Agreement; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On April 18, 2017, the Mendocino County Water Agency executed a Joint Powers Agreement joining the Ukiah Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency and acting as the Agency's Treasurer and Controller. On July 10, 2018, the Board of Directors approved a contract with Larry Walker and Associates for the development of Phase 2 of the Ukiah Valley Groundwater Sustainability Plan and fund the contract with the Proposition 1 Groundwater Sustainability Planning Grant.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Ukiah Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (UVBGSA) JPA names the County of Mendocino as the Treasurer and Controller. The Mendocino County Water Agency (MCWA) provides this function on behalf of the County. On August 10, 2017, the UVBGSA Board authorized MCWA to apply for the Department of Water Resources (DWR) Proposition 1 Groundwater Sustainability Planning Grant on behalf of the Agency.
