Approve appointment of Supervisor Brown as Director/Board Member Representative to the following: California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Board of Directors; and National Association of Counties (NACo) for the 2018-19 term; and authorize staff to transmit said appointments to each.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Last action of the Board taken on September 19, 2017. These are annual Board appointments traditionally acted on prior to CSAC's annual meeting in November, at which time a meeting of the new Board of Directors is convened.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The constitution of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) warrants that Boards of Supervisors elect a representative member and an alternate member to serve on the CSAC Board of Directors for a one-year period, commencing with the first day of the CSAC annual conference in November. This year's annual CSAC conference is scheduled to commence on November 27, 2018, in San Diego, California. Further, the Board of Supervisors considers the National Association of Counties (NACo) member and alternate appointments annually as a special assignment.
Historically, the Board has made said appointments for a one-year term to meet CSAC and NACo timelines. Appointment of alternate member representatives will take place at the Board of Supervisors organizational meeting in January.
