On April 6, 2017, the Executive Office released RFP No. 08-17 titled “Information Technology Master Plan”.  On December 5, 2017, the Board of Supervisors received an update and recommendations related to RFP No. 08-17, “Information Technology Master Plan” and awarded a contract to ClientFirst Technology Consulting to provide an IT Master Plan and Consulting Services in the amount of $99,902.                       Regular updates regarding the development of the IT Master Plan have been provided to the Board via the CEO Report and Quarterly Budget throughout Fiscal Year 2017-18.

Summary of Request

The County’s IT Master Plan consultants, ClientFirst, have been working with the Executive Office, the Sheriff’s Office and the Information Services Division on the development and preparation of a County-wide IT Master Plan.  The IT Master Plan development process included the following components:

                     Needs Assessment

                     Infrastructure Review

                     Meeting with IT management

                     Risk Assessment

                     Communication Systems Review

                     IT Staffing Review

                     IT Initiative Determination

                     IT Initiative Development

                     Planning and Prioritization Workshops

                     Final Report and Presentations

The results of the development process has resulted in ClientFirst preparing the final IT Master Plan, which includes an assessment of both the infrastructure of the County’s IT operations and recommended business process improvements associated with various software systems and/or County operational practices and processes.  This presentation of the IT Master Plan will also include a County Information Systems Technology Master Planning Budget and the Technology Current State Assessment for the County.  The Executive Office will be presenting additional information regarding funding strategies related to the overall IT Master Plan during the First Quarter Budget presentation.
