Summary of Request

The County submitted two applications to fund an implementation project and a planning project to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) in June 2018.  The implementation project, titled The Road to Recovery: Redwood Complex Fire Restoration - Implementation will implement erosion prevention control on prioritizes sites based on assessment and inventory of sediment sources.  The planning project, titled The Road to Recovery: Redwood Complex Fire Restoration - Planning Project will prepare restoration plans for 240 acres of riparian and hillslope restoration.  The County received notice in September 2019 that both projects have been approved for funding.  CDFW requires a resolution from the governing body that confirms approval of the projects and the grant monies.  This resolution authorizes the County to accept the funds to implement the two restoration projects and authorizes the Chief Executive Officer to conduct negotiations, execute, and submit and sign all documents necessary for the completion of the projects.
