The County submitted two applications to fund an implementation project and a planning project to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) in June 2018. The implementation project, titled The Road to Recovery: Redwood Complex Fire Restoration - Implementation will implement erosion prevention control on prioritizes sites based on assessment and inventory of sediment sources. The planning project, titled The Road to Recovery: Redwood Complex Fire Restoration - Planning Project will prepare restoration plans for 240 acres of riparian and hillslope restoration. The County received notice in September 2019 that both projects have been approved for funding.
