PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
October 23, 2012 - Approval of transfer of funds in the amount of $200,000 from the District's AB 923 Fund Balance to the District's Carl Moyer Program Trust Account to be used as match funding.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
In 2004, Assembly Bill 923 was approved, authorizing an additional surcharge of $2.00 on motor vehicle registrations for remediation of air pollution caused by motor vehicles. In 2006, the Board approved the District's School Bus Replacement Program for the expenditure of AB 923 funds. Since 2006, a total of $1,603,209 has been allocated to School Bus replacements using AB 923 funds, in addition to $1,950,000 dollars in funding for School Bus Replacements under Proposition 1B (2006 Bond Measure). AB 923 also authorizes the funds to be used as match funding for the Carl Moyer Program. The Carl Moyer Program creates incentives in the form of grants for private companies and public agencies to replace older heavy-duty diesel engines. The District currently has $17,439 in match funding available in the Carl Moyer Program Trust Account.
