RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Receive the presentation, including the results of an initial feasibility study from Aircon Energy, and provide direction that may include having Aircon Energy conduct a formal investment grade audit of County facilities and return to the Board to present final recommendations and options to implement and fund energy efficiency improvements.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On January 2, 2002, the Board approved an agreement with Aircon Energy for energy retrofit services for the Public Health facility on Dora Street. On September 20, 2016 the Board received a presentation from Aircon Energy and directed staff work with the firm to complete a feasibility study. In budget planning for FY 18-19, there was Board discussion regarding the exploration of solar at County facilities.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Aircon Energy, serving northern California since 1974, specializes in turnkey energy and sustainability project identification, development and implementation for state and local governments. Projects range from identifying and implementing solutions to reduce energy and water costs, such as interior/exterior lighting and controls to water usage and irrigation.
