Stepping Up is a National Initiative focused on addressing and reducing the high number of individuals with mental illness who are currently incarcerated in the United States. The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors passed a Resolution on June 9, 2015, supporting this National Initiative. Its passing highlighted the priority of the Initiative in Mendocino County by committing the County to safely reduce the number of individuals with mental illness in the County jail.
