Adopt Resolution granting permission for Covelo FFA to hold a Field Day Parade in Covelo on Saturday, May 11, 2019, between 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.; authorize Chair to sign same; and direct the Clerk of the Board to forward copies of the Resolution to the Caltrans District Permit Coordinator, Caltrans (Eureka), the California Highway Patrol, and the Agriculture Department at Round Valley High School.

Summary of Request:
The Covelo FFA Chapter wishes to hold a parade in connection with the Mother’s Day Weekend Field Day. The parade will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, between 8:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., commencing on Eberle Street and continuing on Highway 162 through the town of Covelo, ending at the High School on Howard Street, off Highway 162.
In order to obtain a permit from Caltrans for the parade, a Resolution from the Board of Supervisors, pursuant to Caltrans/California Highway Patrol’s Joint Policy Guidelines for Special Events on State Conventional Highways. Therefore, the Covelo FFA is requesting permission from the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors to hold the FFA Field Day Parade in Covelo, California, on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Do not grant permission for the FFA Field Day Parade in Covelo.
