SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Navy is proposing sonar and explosive testing in the Pacific Ocean which will include waters off the coast of Mendocino County. This could cause grave damage to the fauna of the oceans, in particular the marine mammals which migrate through these waters. Mendocino County relies on tourism dependent on the migrating whales, seals, fish, and sea life. Any threat to these animals in our area needs to be opposed.

Do not approve letter and provide alternative direction.
