Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On April 18, 2017 the Board adopted Resolution No. 17-055, establishing the total mileage of County Maintained Roads at 1,014.86 miles as of December 31, 2016. On April 24, 2018, the Board adopted Resolution No. 18-059, establishing the total mileage of County Maintained Roads at 1,015.77 miles as of December 31, 2017.
Summary of Request:
The California Streets and Highways Code require that in May of each year the County submit to the California Department of Transportation any additions to or exclusions from its adopted maintained mileage during the preceding calendar year. The Mendocino County Department of Transportation (MCDoT) has determined that 1.0 miles of single lane road at the end of two lane portion of Vichy Springs Road, County Road (CR) 215, was inadvertently not included in previous years maintained mileage calculations. Ardesch Court, CR 214B, was extended 0.06 miles to a new length of 0.09 miles. Perrier Court, CR 214F, is a new road 0.13 miles long. Cox Schrader Road (Frontage Road E) (0.10 miles of road), CR 141, was renamed Rivino Ranch Road and then vacated. There were no further additions or exclusions in 2017. MCDoT has recalculated the mileage of County Maintained Roads in the County of Mendocino using current segment length measurements and the most recent functional classifications and determined that the total mileage is 1,016.86 miles, which is 1.09 miles more than reported last April. The increase in total mileage is attributed to Vichy Springs Road, CR 215, corrected length (+1.0 miles), Ardesch Court, CR 214B, additional length (+0.06 miles), Perrier Court, CR 214F, additional length (+0.13 miles), Rivino Ranch Road, CR 141, deleted (-.10 miles).
