SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mental Health America and affiliates began Mental Health Awareness Month in 1949 to reduce stigma and teach about the signs of mental illness. Today, organizations throughout the United States observe Mental Health Awareness Month by providing outreach activities to raise awareness for mental health and draw attention to the resources available to treat mental illness.
During May 2019, the Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, will increase outreach activities to raise awareness of mental health concerns, and to highlight services and resources available in the County.
