Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

On August 16, 2016, the Board adopted Resolution No. 16-109, approving and supporting the submittal of a “State-Local Partnership Program” application by the Arts Council of Mendocino County (ACMC).  Every subsequent year thereafter, the Board has adopted a Resolution designating the Arts Council as the County’s authorized partner for the California Arts Council’s State-Local Partnership Program (CAC Partnership Program).

Summary of Request

ACMC promotes the arts and cultivates creativity to benefit and enrich the lives of residents and visitors.  The Arts Council priorities include: expanding opportunities for artists and arts organizations, supporting art education, promoting the role of the arts in the local economy and increasing public awareness of the value of the arts.

Participation in the CAC Partnership Program and local funding allows the ACMC to annually access match funding from the California Arts Council that is critical for general operational support.  Estimated at a minimum of $12,000, this funding is considered vital to the effectiveness and viability of the ACMC as a nonprofit organization.  The ACMC has requested this partnership designation for June 30, 2019 - June 29, 2020.
