Summary of Request

On March 21, 2019, the Governing Board of the Piercy Fire Protection District (“District”) adopted a resolution requesting the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors (“Board”) to approve consolidation of the District’s election of their governing board with the statewide General Election in November of each even-numbered year.  All districts located in Mendocino County were sent notices in accordance with Elections Code section 10404(c).  In accordance with Elections Code section 10404.5(d), the Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters provided an impact analysis.  Elections Code section 10404.5(e) requires the Board to approve the District’s resolution unless it finds that the ballot style, voting equipment, or computer capacity is such that additional elections or materials cannot be handled. As reflected in the impact analysis, no evidence exists to support such a finding at this time.
