The Board routinely adopts proclamations in recognition of significant events and accomplishments.                     

 

Summary of Request

The Mendocino County LGBTQI2+ community celebrates May as Pride Month in Mendocino County and annually holds a Pride festival. The Mendocino Pride Alliance, in coordination with the Ukiah Brewing Company, PFLAG and GLAM are holding a Pride Festival and request that May 11, 2019 be proclaimed as Pride Day in Mendocino County. Pride Festival participants are invited to assemble at 10:30am on May 11 at the corner of Scott and N. State Sts. and participate in the Pride March to Alex Thomas Plaza commencing at noon where festivities will continue until 4:00pm.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not adopt the Proclamation, or adopt as amended.
