The Board of Supervisors routinely adopts Proclamations recognizing meritorious achievements.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Community Foundation of Mendocino County was incorporated on October 1, 1993 and is celebrating its twenty-fifth year of operation. Starting with an initial $500 donation the Community Foundation now has total assets of $35.5 million dollars and has distributed over $19 million dollars in grants and scholarships. The Community Foundation has actively participated in funding a wide variety of community enrichment programs and more recently raised $3 million dollars for Mendocino County fire survivors and $1 million dollars for fire recovery infrastructure, administration and staffing and has distributed over $2.75 million to support fire recovery efforts. The Community Foundation will hold a twenty-fifth anniversary celebration on June 2, 2019. The Board is requested to approve the attached resolution in honor of the invaluable community contributions of the Community Foundation over the past twenty-five years.
