Summary of Request

Anderson Valley Unified School District will provide Prevention and Early Intervention Services to at least eighty (80) children and youth with the intent of reducing negative outcomes that may result from untreated mental illness. Such services include outreach, education, mental health clinician services, community based family support, and other treatment and interventions that promote recovery and improve functional outcomes for individuals in the early emergence of serious mental illness.

The proposed contract allows continuation of services initiated in Fiscal Year 2018-19 as part of Mendocino County’s comprehensive Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) plan, which was developed and updated through an extensive community planning process. That process included gathering input from stakeholders, posting the plan and any updates for public comment, and conducting public hearings in coordination with the Behavioral Health Advisory Board.
