Approve Agreement with North Coast Opportunities, Inc., in the amount of $264,944, to provide child care navigation and trauma-informed care trainings for the period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments that do not exceed the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Health and Human Services Agency, Family and Children's Services, requests Board approval of the Agreement with North Coast Opportunities, Inc., to ensure availability of specific support services for foster children. Family and Children's Services provides funding for these services as part of a broader commitment to excellence in the delivery of child welfare services.

Starting January 1, 2018, California Department of Social Services (CDSS) gave counties the option to opt-in to the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for foster children. The Bridge Program requires counties to contract with their local Child Care Resource and Referral programs to provide child care navigation and trauma-informed care training and coaching. North Coast Opportunities, Inc. (NCO) is the only Child Care Resource and Referral program in Mendocino County.
