PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board approved a funding of $100,000 to Mendocino County Fire Safe Council at the June 4-5 fiscal year 2019-20 budget hearing.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Board approved a funding of $100,000 at the June 4-5 fiscal year 2019-20 budget hearing to fund Mendocino County Fire Safe Council's (MCFSC) operational costs for fiscal year 2019-20. This funding request is to accommodate increased demand in MCFSC services and create a long-term strategy to be fiscally independent of Mendocino County Resource Conservation District. MCFSC activities include, but not limited to improve organizational capacities, increase support for County fire preparedness activities, educate the community on fire preparedness, create plans, pursue funding for fire preparedness projects, and implement fire recovery projects. This contract is retroactive as the final budget was finalized and adopted on June 18, 2019, therefore, necessitating the agreement to be presented at a future Board meeting for consideration.
