Summary of Request:
The voters of Mendocino County passed Measure B on November 7, 2017, for the purpose of improving residents' lives and public safety by strategically evaluating and enhancing resources for mental health treatment. On April 24, 2018, the Board of Supervisors directed a budget unit be developed for Measure B and managed by the Executive Office. In addition, the Board directed that all Measure B funds must be approved by the Board of Supervisors before allocation or expenditure.
On September 25, 2019, the "Mental Health Treatment Act" Citizen's Oversight Committee approved an item recommending the expenditure of up to $35,000 of Measure B funds to acquire a wireless sound system for use at the Committee meetings. This will ensure that members of the public can adequately hear both the Committee members and members of the public when speaking. The County researched and presented sound system options to the Committee on September 25, 2019. The Committee approved the best option presented, with the recommendation that County Information Services acquire the most economical system suitable for the Committee meeting needs.
