Summary of Request

Presently, all but 50 feet of the County’s 120 feet length emergency Bailey bridge is deployed at Lambert Lane for three years until a replacement bridge can be built.  The purchase of additional Bailey bridge segments; between 44 and 80 panels with connector pins and ties, will increase the County’s total emergency bridge span length an additional 170 to 190 feet and would make 120 to 150 feet available for any emergencies during the three years the Bailey bridge is in use at Lambert Lane. The purchase will be funded by a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Grant of $219,000 with Local Match of $25,119.30 (11.47%)  and a 10% contingency of $21,900 from Budget Unit (BU) 3010 (Road Fund) for a total estimated cost of $266,019.30.
