PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On September 17, 2019, the Board of Supervisors referred the development of the Legislative Platform to the Board of Supervisors' General Government Standing Committee. On October 21, 2019, the General Government Standing Committee reviewed the 2020 Legislative Platform.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Pursuant to County Policy No. 19, the Board of Supervisors adopts an annual Legislative Platform reflecting the County priorities for legislative advocacy, state and federal funding, and issues of interest to local government. The proposed Legislative Platform includes the following categories: local control, regulatory mandates and reform, transportation, water, cannabis, disaster recovery, economic and community development, agriculture, public safety, environment, health and human services and livability. The Executive Office request the Board review the proposed legislative priorities and adopt the 2020 Legislative Platform.

Do not adopt the platform and provide alternative direction to staff.
