Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

By Resolution Number (No.) 12-045 (March 13, 2012) the Board of Supervisors (BOS) supported the funding application for the preparation of a feasibility study for Orchard Avenue Extension and designated the Director of Transportation as the County’s authorized agent for the applicable California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Transportation Planning Grant. By Resolution No. 17-130 (September 12, 2017), BOS authorized DOT to enter into a contract to receive Caltrans Sustainable Community-Based Transportation Planning Grant (CBTP) Funds in the amount of $170,500 for the Orchard Avenue Extension Feasibility Study. By Resolution No. 18-065 (May 8, 2018), BOS approved Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 170066, Professional Services Agreement with GHD Inc. (GHD), for the Orchard Avenue Extension Feasibility Study.                     

 

Summary of Request

GHD has completed a feasibility study for the northerly extension of Orchard Avenue, County Road 147, in the Ukiah Area, resulting in the development of a final report that includes recommendations for a feasible alternative for a roadway extension that includes bicycle and pedestrian facilities as integral features of the road infrastructure. This presentation provides the results of the feasibility study.
