By Resolution Number (No.) 18-164 (November 6, 2018), the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved BOS Agreement No. 18-151/Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 180072 Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Redwood Valley County Water District (RVCWD), concerning the Redwood Fire Disaster Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Redwood Valley Water Infrastructure Retrofit Project. By Resolution No. 19-011 (January 8, 2019), the BOS approved Agreement No. 19-004/DOT Agreement No. 180073 with Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers for Project Development, Design and Construction Implementation Services.
Summary of Request:
Mendocino County Department of Transportation will prepare and administer construction plans, specifications, estimates, and contract documents for DOT Contract No. 200001, for construction of the Redwood Valley Water Infrastructure Retrofit Project on behalf of RVCWD. This project is for construction of 2.63 miles of new, larger capacity water mains and the up grading in size and capacity of 142 service meters as part of the Redwood Fire Disaster Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs (HMGP) funding obtained by Mendocino County. The total construction costs, including construction engineering and contingency, is estimated at $6,200,000, and the work will span the summer 2020 construction season. The project is to be managed and inspected by Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers with administration oversight by RVCWD and DOT per the MOA.
