Each year the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors proclaims March as "Women's History Month" in recognition of the achievements of all women in Mendocino County

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors proclaims March as "Women's History Month" in recognition of the achievements of all women in Mendocino County and invites the public to attend the Women's History Gala Celebration held to especially honor important women in our community. This year marks the 37th annual celebration of women by the Mendocino Women's Political Coalition with the American Association of University Women-Ukiah as the co-sponsor. The celebration will be held on Sunday, March 1, at the Saturday Afternoon Clubhouse, 107 South Oak Street, in Ukiah. Doors open at Noon with the program starting at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

"Valiant Women of the Vote" is the theme for this year's event. The 2020 theme celebrates the women who have fought for a woman's right to vote in the United States and the passage of the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution officially giving women that right. The 2020 theme also recognizes the intersecting forms of discrimination women have faced, and continue to face, throughout America...
