Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
The Mental Health Treatment Act Citizen’s Oversight Committee recommended, and the Board of Supervisors approved purchase of property at 8207 East Road, Redwood Valley for the Regional Behavioral Health Training Facility. At the October 22, 2019 meeting the Board of Supervisors approved the expenditure of up to $50,000 of Measure B funds to begin improvements.
Summary of Request:
At the October 22, 2019 meeting the Board of Supervisors approved the expenditure of up to $50,000 of Mental Health Treatment Act C (Measure B)funds to begin improvements to the Regional Behavioral Health Training Facility. The working budget for the $50,000 is included in the Training Facility Budget Estimate Phase I attachment. The Board also directed Mental Health Treatment Act Citizen’s Oversight Committee to create a plan and budget for additional improvements over the initial $50,000. The Mental Health Treatment Act Citizen’s Oversight Committee Training Facility Ad Hoc worked with staff to develop a plan to create a breakroom and address other facility improvements. The plan was approved by the Mental Health Treatment Act Citizen’s Oversight Committee on March 25, 2020, and referred the plan to the Board of Supervisors for authorization. The project is estimated at $197,258 with an addition $60,000 allowance for a fire sprinkler riser and system with at total authorization request before the Board of $257,258. The plan is included as the attachment entitled Training Facility Budget Estimate Phase II. The Mental Health Treatment Act Citizen’s Oversight Committee is requesting the Board approve $257,258 to fund additional facility improvements for the Regional Behavioral Health Training Facility Capital Project.
