Ongoing Grant: Most Recent Action, April 4, 2017, Item No. 4(o), Resolution 17-045; Adoption of Resolution Authorizing Annual Application from Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency, Environmental Health (Local Enforcement Agency) for Enforcement Assistance Grants for Solid Waste Facility Permitting and Inspections for Fiscal Years 2017-18 through 2021-22.
Summary of Request:
A Board of Supervisors Resolution is required to authorize the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) to apply for annual grant funding to support Mendocino County's LEA solid waste facility permit and inspection program. The grant guidelines and instructions recommend the Resolution authorize Mendocino County's LEA to apply for these grants for the next five years. Last year Mendocino County received $18,808 from LEA Grant EA-32, and is scheduled to receive $19,265 from LEA Grant EA-33 (FY 2022-23). This is an annual grant administered by the California Department of Resources Recycling, and Recovery (CalRecycle), and this Resolution will authorize grant applications annually for the next five years. Mendocino County Environmental Health/LEA has received these grants since 1991.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Not apply for the grant, resulting in a loss of $19,265 in revenue to the County.
