Authorize the Mendocino County Library to accept United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Grant in the Amount of $64,200 to provide a 75% match for the purchase of furniture, opening day collection of books and audiovisual materials, and other office supplies for the new Laytonville Branch Library; and authorize the addition of Laytonville Branch furniture in the amount of $36,089 to the County fixed asset list.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant program provides affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. Mendocino County Library has been selected to receive a Rural Development grant to open the new Laytonville Branch Library.
The estimated expenses to open the new branch total $85,612. The USDA grant will cover 75% of the expenses or $64,200 and 25% or $21,400 of the expenses will be paid with the Library budget. The grant funds would help to cover the cost of i...
