Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
Ongoing Agreement. Most recent action: May 25, 2021, Item No. 4(m), BOS Agreement No. 21-087.
Summary of Request:
Redwood Community Services (RCS) has been arranging specialty mental health services under the direction and supervision of Redwood Quality Management Company (RQMC) on behalf of Mendocino County. The proposed Agreement with RCS will arrange and pay for specialty mental health services providing 24/7 supportive living services, as well as case management to clients 18 years and older in Mendocino County who are court ordered into Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT), and/or Lanterman, Petris & Short Act (LPS) services. Placements in RCS Supportive Housing is a more cost effective way to provide mandated supportive living requirements to AOT and LPS clients in lieu of more costly out of county placements. These placements also allow LPS and AOT clients to remain in the community they know and provides the opportunity to build or strengthen family support systems. This agreement allows RCS to arrange for necessary specialty mental health services on behalf of the County, while allowing the County to maintain a comprehensive Mental Health Plan and compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
