SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
This Domain is intended for the identification of Mendocino County web resources, including our primary public website, as an official Government domain. Mendocino County is requesting an exception to the requirement which states the need to include a reference to the State (in this case California, or CA) on the basis of exception item #1. Exception 1 states the following,

"1. Unique: City and county names that are not duplicative of any other city, county, parish, town, borough, village, or equivalent elsewhere in the country at the time of issuance can be registered without needing a reference to the origin."

The request to omit the reference to the State is to maintain consistency with existing domain formatting, while providing clarity and recognition for our Public when navigating and identifying web resources for Mendocino County.

In order to obtain and maintain [MendocinoCounty.gov] Mendocino County will meet the general and specific requirements for federal agencies, found at https://home.dotgov.gov/registration/requirements.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
