By Minute Order (July 7, 2015), the Board approved Board of Supervisors (BOS) Agreement Number (No.) 15-071 with Cold Creek Compost, Inc., for composting services. By Minute Order (March 19, 2019), the Board approved Amendment No. One to BOS Agreement No. 15-071.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 220036 is an Amended and Restated Agreement between the County and Cold Creek Compost, Inc. (Cold Creek), for organic waste composting services. This agreement incorporates new requirements of Senate Bill (SB) 1383, including more stringent organic waste handling and processing standards, and record-keeping and reporting requirements. Additionally, the Agreement guarantees capacity to the County of 4,000 tons per year, as required by SB 1383, and provides for an annual donation of 150 tons of compost by Cold Creek to the County to help the County in meeting its new recycled organic waste product procurement requirements.
