SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement Number (No.) 220037, is an Agreement between the County and Pacific Recycling Solutions, Inc., dba Pacific Organics Solutions (POS), for organic waste composting services. This agreement includes new requirements of Senate Bill (SB) 1383, including organic waste handling and processing standards, and record-keeping and reporting requirements. Additionally, the Agreement guarantees capacity to the County of 5,000 tons per year through June 2032 and provides for an annual donation of 1500 tons of compost by POS to the County which satisfies a large portion of the County's new recycled organic waste product procurement requirements. The Agreement is not exclusive and still allows the County to contract with other facilities for organic waste processing as desired or needed.
