PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
June 7, 2022, Adopted Resolution No. 22-124

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
CalRecycle administers a program to provide opportunities for the Local Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in carrying out their solid waste facilities permit and inspection programs. In Mendocino County, these funds have been used for personnel costs of LEA staff in the solid waste program. Mendocino County has been an annual recipient of this non-competitive grant since 1991 and requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the acceptance of these funds for FY 2022-2023.

The proposed grant is coming before the Board for retroactive approval due to the Department of Public Health receiving the grant in October for review and signature, with a start date of July 1.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
Do not approve the grant agreement with the resulting loss of $19,265 in revenue to the County.
