Approve Agreement (Amendment to Agreement No. PA-23-53, SS-22-083) with the City of Fort Bragg in the amount of $50,000, for a new total amount of $89,908, to operate the Emergency Winter Shelter on the Mendocino County Coast, effective November 18, 2022 through April 30, 2023; authorize the Social Services Director or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Historically, the Mendocino County coastal Emergency Winter Shelter was operated by Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center (MCHC) with support from local churches. Due to COVID restrictions, this support was discontinued. The City of Fort Bragg recognized the need for an Emergency Winter Shelter on the coast, and stepped up to fill this need. On November 18, 2022, Mendocino County entered into Purchasing Agent Agreement No. PA-23-53, SS-22-083 with the City of Fort Bragg to provide emergency shelter services on the coast during extreme weather. This Emergency Winter Shelter is a limited-term support for inclement weather and is used only when the local shelter is full.
