RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Accept update on the status of RFP process seeking a substance use services proposal for innovative continuum of care programs for youth and/or adults to help individuals achieve and maintain sobriety; authorize posting of said RFP; and authorize the Mental Health Treatment Act Citizens Oversight Committee and Behavioral Health Director to award the winning proposal.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On August 2, 2022, the Board of Supervisors moved approval to further consider opportunities for improved access to substance use services in Mendocino County via RFP, in alignment with County policy.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On November 7, 2017, "Measure B" received a two-thirds majority of the votes by the County's voters adding Chapter 5.10 to the Mendocino County Code entitled the "Mental Health Treatment Act" adopting a County Transaction (Sales) and Use Tax for the specific purpose of funding improved services, treatment, and facilities for persons with mental health conditions.
