Approve second amendment (third amendment to Agreement No. BOS-22-236) with the California Department of Public Health in the amount of $25,308 for a new total of $3,453,930, to support the delivery of services, deliverables, and benefits of the Women, Infants, and Children program, effective October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2025; authorize the Public Health Director or designee to sign any future amendments that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) provides funds to the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program of the County of Mendocino Department of Public Health (PH), to support pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women and their children. These funds enable the WIC program to provide services to help mothers and young children stay healthy. Specifically, qualifying WIC participants are eligible to receive nutrition education, vouchers for nutritious foods, breastfeeding support, and referrals to medical providers and community services.
