The Board of Supervisors routinely adopts Proclamations recognizing special events and issues in Mendocino County.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
In recognition of the County of Mendocino, our Mendocino County Tribal Partners, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office and all of the organizations in Mendocino County that work to bring awareness to the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People whose cases of sexual assault and violence are documented and undocumented in public records Mendocino County proclaims May 5th, 2024, as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People Day.
In solidarity with the victims and their families of these tragedies Mendocino County employees and the community are encouraged to wear red on May 5th, 2024, to raise awareness.
