Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On June 8, 2021, the Board of Supervisors directed the Executive Office to proceed with re-establishing the Mendocino County Water agency as a stand-alone agency.
On October 19, 2021, the Board of Supervisors Agenda Item 5b) Discussion and possible action including adoption of resolution approving the Department of Transportation Agreement Number (No.) 210054, Professional Services Agreement with GEI Consultants, Inc. in the amount of $306,808 for the term starting upon execution of the agreement through December 31, 2022, for the re-establishment of a stand-alone Mendocino County Water agency.
On March 15, 2022, the Board created a Funding Ad Hoc of Supervisors Haschak and McGourty, to work with GEI Consultants Inc. on a funding plan for the re-establishment of a stand-alone Mendocino County Water Agency.
On May 17, 2022, the Board of Supervisors Agenda Item 4c) Discussion and possible action including acceptance of update regarding re-establishment of a stand-alone Mendocino County Water Agency and update from Funding Ad Hoc Committee.
On August 2, 2022, the Board of Supervisors Agenda Item 4c) Re-establishment of the stand-alone Water Agency by implementation of Scenario #1"Mendocino County Water Resources Team" (MCWRT) based in US Cooperative Extension (UCCE) with a consultant supported by various other County departments and divisions in addition to UCCE staff. The Board directed that any consultant agreement has specific tasks and deliverables and that assistance be given for grants and implementation in all five Supervisorial Districts as part of the Consultant Scope of Services.
Summary of Request/Referral:
Discuss and provide direction to staff as appropriate.
Scenario #1 - Form a MCWRT in collaboration with the Executive Office/Grants Team to assist in grants application, compliance, and reporting.
Move current Water Agency to co-locate with UCCE - see Attachment “A” for Scenario #1 Mendocino County Water Resource Team.
UCCE performs basic support including Director, Office Services Supervisor, Ag Technician, and office space |
