Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On January 26, 2021, the Board approved Agreement No. 21-005 with Abbott & Kindermann, Inc. in the amount of $50,000 with the service period through June 30, 2021.
On May 4, 2021, the Board approved the first amendment No. 21-005-A1 with Abbott & Kindermann, Inc. extending the service period through June 30, 2022.
On May 3, 2022, the Board approved the second amendment No. 21-005-A2 with Abbott & Kindermann, Inc. extending the service period through June 30, 2023
Summary of Request:
The County has contracted with Abbott & Kindermann, Inc. to provide specialized legal services related to the CEQA issues involving the interface between the County’s cannabis cultivation permitting system and state approvals by CDFA. While the County may undertake changes to its cannabis cultivation permitting regulations going forward, Abbott & Kindermann’s expertise and knowledge of CEQA and State agencies will continue to prove useful in the County’s processing of existing applications and working with CDFA. It is requested to extend the expiration date from June 30,2023 to June 30, 2024.

Do not approve the Amendment to Agreement with Abbott & Kindermann, Inc. and provide direction to staff.
