Approve amendment to PA Agreement 20-118 with Liebert Cassidy Whitmore (LCW), effective June 22, 2021, increasing the total compensation by $50,000 (from $100,000, for a new Agreement total of $150,000) extend the termination date from June 30, 2021 to December 31, 2021 for litigation services for Howe v County of Mendocino; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board of Supervisors authorized the utilization of outside counsel on this litigation in closed session on September 10, 2019. On October 6, 2020 the Board approved an amendment increasing the contract amount by $50,000.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The County entered into a $50,000 Purchasing Agent Agreement with Liebert Cassidy Whitmore (LCW) for litigation services for Howe v. County of Mendocino on May 12, 2020. Billable services are anticipated to exceed the amount of the agreement so an increase is being requested to cover continuing costs. Additionally the termination date needs to be extended from June 30, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
