Approve Amendment to BOS Agreement No. 20-118 with American Guard Services, Inc. in the amount of $200,000 for a new total of $374,720 to provide armed security guard services for persons placed in quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, effective upon full execution of Amendment through August 1, 2021; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Assistant Director to sign any amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), Special Investigations Unit (SIU), issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for security guard services on April 1, 2019. American Guard Services (AGS) was the top ranked vendor for security guard services and selected by SIU to contract with HHSA. AGS has an existing contract to provide guard services at HHSA sites in Mendocino County.
AGS will provide an armed uniformed security guard to monitor persons placed in quarantine in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Duties include safeguarding the staff and people quarantining at the Whitmore Care Facility, preventing unauthorized entry into the facility, and making sure the facility is secure. The proposed ...
