This purchase was not included in the original budget adopted for FY 2020-21. The Board of Supervisors approves as needed larger dollar purchase requests and budget appropriation changes.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Probation Department's portable radios are out of date and are not recommended for use as first responders. It is essential that the Probation Department have equipment that will enable it to communicate not only as a first responder with other allied agencies during the time of emergency but also to perform its duties as law enforcement personnel on a daily basis.
