Based on the long-established MEMPHIS MODEL, this joint training covered skills and resources available to police officers, mental health staff, and other first responders when responding to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis with the overall goals of increasing first responders' awareness of the debilitating nature of mental illness and promoting positive contacts between first responders and those who live with mental illness.
