PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On August 1, 2017, the Board of Supervisors passed Ordinance No. 4387, which was then submitted for voter approval as "Measure B." On January 9, 2018, the Board of Supervisors appointed current members to the Mental Health Treatment Act Oversight Committee. On September 1, 2020, the Board appointed Supervisors Williams and Haschak as a Measure B Ad Hoc Committee to work with Measure B Staff and the Measure B Committee.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Measure B ad hoc committee appointed by the Board of Supervisors has identified a need for clarification of the term length for appointees to the Mental Health Citizen's Oversight Committee. Per Ordinance No. 4387, five members of that committee are appointed by the Mendocino County Supervisors. The Ordinance, however, does not specify the length of these appointments, the method by which an incoming supervisor may make a new appointment, or the process for removing an existing committee member. Consequently, clarifying rules are needed.
